Do we offer financing or payment plans?
Do you require a deposit?
- Yes, 10% deposit and the remaining balance is due at delivery. Cash, check or debit/credit card.
What's your time frame for ordered buildings?
- Our ordered buildings are taking 6-8 weeks for Brandywine and 8-10 weeks for King George to arrive to our property & then we would schedule a weather permitting delivery date.
- KITS are taking 3-4 months to be delivered and built.
Do you give an exact date when the building will arrive to Best Built?
- We do not get advance notice of when your building will arrive on Best Built's property. We are only notified via fax, the same day the building arrives. Once we check it in, we will call you to schedule a weather permitting delivery date, which consists of a date and a 2 hour time frame.
Do I have to come to Best Built to order or purchase a shed?
- Nope. You can come to our office if you'd like, but we can also do everything over the phone, as long as we can email you the paperwork and you can sign and send them back.
- You can view all the styles, colors and options right on our website.
Is there a delivery charge?
- Free delivery within 1st 25 miles, $4.00 a mile after that.
- If 12 ft. Quaker or 14 ft. wide building, there is a $300 escort fee.
Do you offer move jobs?
- It is a service we offer. Please call the office at 301.372.1119 to see if we are taking on any new ones at the moment or for more information.
Can you come out and do an estimate of my yard? If so, does it cost money?
- Yes we can come do a FREE estimate at your request.
- Once you decide on what size building you want, one of our drivers can come out and check to see if you have clearance and if the area is fairly level or if you need site prep (from another company).
- We will give you a flag to place where you want the shed to go. The estimates are paired with a delivery in the area, or done on rainy days.
How do you deliver?
- All buildings are delivered on a flat bed truck (& trailer if 18 ft. or longer).
- The size of the building determines the clearance needed for access. For example, an 8x10 workshop would need 9 ft. wide clearance for delivery, the entire pathway the truck has to take.
- The truck drives through your property and backs up to where you are placing it, so it can slide off the back of the truck. (See picture of our delivery truck at bottom of page)
What is a Mule?
- The Mule is a device that can help maneuver sheds into tighter areas that the truck/trailer could not. We still need clearance for the shed to fit, depending on what size building you are getting.
- The Mule won't impact your property during a shed delivery like our truck and trailer might, especially on softer ground.
- There is also an additional $250 fee, if we deliver using the Mule.
What if it rains and my yard is soft & saturated?
- We will call you the morning of your delivery to check on your yard. If it is raining or has rained prior to your scheduled delivery day and the ground is soft and saturated, we will have to reschedule at that time. The truck with the shed on the back is 15,000 lbs, we don't want to get stuck or cause deep rutts in your yard.
What kind of site prep is necessary?
- Buildings 10x16 or smaller: We will level with cinder-block if the area is fairly level and you are not placing the shed on a hill/slope.
- Buildings 10x16 or larger require a leveled pad site, that another company would have to do. For example, a leveled concrete pad, gravel pad, post and beam, asphalt or millings. We do have recommendations, please call our office for the information.
Why is Site Prep important?
- A level and solid foundation will insure that your doors and windows open and close properly. It will also provide a greater weight capacity and increase the longevity of your shed.
Does the shed have skids underneath?
- 4x4 pressure treated skids are attached to the bottom of all of our sheds/gazebos. This automatically gives you 4" from the ground.
Are your buildings prefab, pre-built or built on site?
- Buildings are pre-built and delivered fully assembled. However, you can order to have it Built on Site for an additional 30% of the building cost.
How wide are your double doors?
- 8' wide buildings come standard with 4' wide dbl doors
- 10' wide buildings come standard with 5' wide dbl doors
- 12' wide buildings come standard with 6' wide dbl doors
** Depending on the style, you can upgrade your doors to a larger size for a fee.
Is a permit required?
- Every county is different, so I would check with your county to see what's needed. We do not pull the permit for you nor require to see/have a copy of it.
Do I have to be home?
- Yes, someone needs to be home to direct us where to place the shed and to make your final payment.
When can I schedule my delivery?
- Once we check your building in, we will call you to schedule a weather permitting delivery date.
- We do NOT get advance notice of when your building will be here. We are only notified via fax, the same day the building arrives.
What are the building specifications?
- 2x4 Construction, 4x4 Pressure treated skids, 2x4 floor joists 16" on center, 5/8 plywood floor, Shutters standard on Quaker & Workshop, 240 lb. asphalt shingles, Jalousie Windows or Sliding Windows, Sidewall 2x4 studs 16" on center & Techshield in ceiling
What if the customer has a fence?
- The homeowner is responsible for removing and re-installing fencing if needed for delivery of the shed. The size of the building determines how much clearance is needed. We do have a recommendation on someone who could do this for a fee, please call the office for information.
Do you have a Build on Site option for sheds, if I don't have enough clearance for delivery?
- If we build for you: For an additional 30% of the building cost, you can order a KIT which is a partially assembled stack of material that will be sealed in a weather proof wrap. You will get to choose the building colors, placement of doors & windows. We would hand deliver each piece to your back yard and build.
- If you build yourself: You can order the same exact KIT mentioned above with no additional fees (same price as regular building). We would drop the KIT off in your driveway which is still sealed in the weather proof wrap and you'd build yourself. This KIT will not have instructions, nails or screws.
What's the difference between Mini Barn and Hi Wall Barn?
- Mini Barns have a 4 ft. side wall and Hi Wall Barns have a 6 ft. side wall.
What's the difference between Workshop and Quaker?
- Workshops and Quakers are both A-frame roofs but the Quaker also has a 16" overhang on the eve side of the building. This requires more clearance for delivery as well.
Do we offer financing or payment plans?
- Yes, we use a 3rd party company named RTO National. The cost of the building and term you choose will determine the deposit, monthly payment and amount of fees you will be charged.
- We have to be able to deliver the shed fully assembled. The size of the building will determine the amount of clearance our truck needs for delivery.
- You can not use RTO with any 2 car garage or 2 story building.
- Please call our office to get pricing and more information on RTO.
